The land including the fields of the Ferndale house are the lighter foregrounds, halfway through the lake. The rising hill behind our lake was Sugarloaf Mountain. I heard they are in the process of putting a subdivision over that Mountain now.
Before we fenced the fields at Ferndale, DerB and Ke lived in this corral with a two stall barn attached. After the north and south pastures were available, the horses only went into the corral for riding or waiting to be ridden. Below is a picture of Sierra on Raje Rose Kesetta; 1991.

Sierra trimming DerB at Calvary Combined Training Center. Although she learned to do DerB's feet passibly, it took her about thirty minutes a hoof! If you ever want to have a renewed appreciation for your farrier's quick skill and brute strength, try trimming your horses' hooves in ten minutes. If you have lots of time, though, DerB's feet were never more balanced and with more heel than when Sierra was trimming them -- "If you want it done right..."
